Creative ExpressionsCreative Expressions is a magazine that is presented to the consumer in a ‘coffee table’ format, which is glorious to look at and inspirational while being educational and practical at the same time. CE encourages the consumer to be all they can be as well as giving women a new sense of achievement and validation. Editor, Jenny Haskins, has an art back ground and has been in the sewing/quilting/embroidery industry for over 17 years. She is an international award winning machine embroidered quilter as well as being the author of 19 books. Jenny shares her passion for craft by presenting exhibitions, fashion shows, trunk shows, classes and lectures featuring original garments and quilts, at national and international quilt and craft shows, festivals, conventions and exhibitions. The passion of machine embroidered quilts has been Jenny’s since joining the sewing industry in 1991. With top of the line embroidery machines on the cutting edge of computer technology, now on the domestic market, Jenny felt that there were no magazines available that educated, inspired and motivated consumers. Jenny took on the task of creating and launching, Creative Expressions, a magazine that presented creative ideas, educational tips, easy techniques, challenging projects, technical support and education on new products. Creative Expressions inspires their readers to achieve extra ordinary results with wonderful machines. Creative Expressions is published six times per year and features quilts and fashion. Content

Hand Mending Made EasySew - A needle pulling thread... Your favorite blouse is missing a button... the pants your son wanted to wear to school have a ripped seam ... the badges need to be sewn on your daughter's scout sash before tonight... If you are someone who panics when these everyday occurrences happen – because you don't know how to sew – you aren't alone. Tailors and dry cleaners make a nice profit when they are called upon to do these simple mending chores – especially if it's rush job! Hand Mending Made Easy is specifically written for the non-sewer. Ides' demonstrates in ten easy, fully illustrated lessons, how to mend almost any garment yourself. Chapters include basics from threading a needle and sewing on buttons to more advanced lessons, such as fixing seams and buttonholes, ironing techniques, and repairing broken zippers. There is also a complete supply list, definitions/terminology, helpful tips and words of encouragement, along with a guide on how much money can be saved by mending one's own clothes. Ides, an avid sewer and clothing designer, says the book was not written as a "learn-to-sew" manual. "I developed the book to show people who really don't necessarily want to learn to sew, how to mend their own clothes – a problem we all have at some point – in a cost- and time-effective manner," states Ides. She even includes a page on when not to try to mend your garment. What does it take to learn to hand mend? Some thread, needles, pins, a pair of scissors, a little patience and practice, practice, practice. Everyone – adults, young adults, teens, even children – can learn to do basic hand mending. Saving money and time is just a few stitches away! Hand Mending Made Easy Available www.palmerpletsch.com and elsewhere on the Web. |
