BERNINA Needle Punching Tool

Enjoy nearly effortless creativity with the BERNINA needle punching tool for felting. Never before was felting so simple. Give structure to your ideas. Decorate your garments with felt, or create felt handbags, pillows, postcards, photo albums, jewellery, and much more! Felt appliqués make your sewing projects one-of-a-kind.

Felting is an old handicraft technique made much easier with a sewing machine. Simply replace your presser foot and needle with the needle punching tool and remove the CB hook from your machine. Set in a circle, the punching tool’s five eyeless, barbed needles pierce the fibres and secure them in the base fabric. You can felt with yarns, embroidery wool, wool- or wool-mix fibres, chenille or polyester – on wool, felt, denim or other cotton materials. The yarn is worked into the base fabric, thereby creating – with the sewing machine, but without sewing – a new fabric: felt. What could be simpler, more decorative, or more original?

Technical requirements
The BERNINA needle punching tool can be used with the following BERNINA CB hook sewing machines:
• all activa models • all virtuosa models • aurora 430 and 440 • artista 165, 170 and 630

You will also need a special needle plate suited to the wide circle of needles and your own particular sewing machine model – ask at your dealer’s.

ScissorooThe Scissoroo

The Scissoroo is a uniquely Australian pair of scissors designed by Trevor Robertson, featuring the iconic Australia Kangaroo. Having recognised that there were not any distinctly Australian scissors, Trevor set about designing a pair himself. He was inspired by the strength, movement and grace of the kangaroo, and began applying this form to a pair of scissors so it could represent this uniquely Australian animal.  Thus the Scissoroo was born.

It has taken Trevor two years from original concept drawings to bring this iconic pair of scissors to market. The elegant shape of the kangaroo fits perfectly into the shape of the scissors and is a design triumph. In the Scissoroo, form follows function.
