Until now, consistent stitch length at different speeds was the sole preserve of industrial sewing machines. Now that the BSR system’s built-in sensor regulates the sewing speed which was previously controlled by the foot pedal, it’s within your grasp as well. The advantage: you can concentrate completely on the movement of the fabric and the creation of the stitching design, whilst the BSR system takes charge of the speed of needle movement. The result: your creative ideas are given perfect concrete expression, with stitch length remaining constant.
Ideal for experienced and beginner sewers
The BERNINA Stitch Regulator not only makes things easier than ever before for the experienced sewer – even beginners enjoy themselves and chalk up successes from the very start, thanks to the variable needle movement: In mode 1, the sewing needle moves even when the fabric is still; in mode 2, stitches are only sewn when the fabric is moved at the same time. By selecting one of the two modes, each sewer can decide how much time she needs when sewing to think about how the design is to develop.
Technical requirements
Thanks to state-of-the-art computer technology in combination with the BSR system, the sky’s the limit as far as your sewing creativity is concerned. The BSR system with three different presser-foot soles comes as standard in the BERNINA artista 730 as well as the aurora 440 QE. An upgrade kit is available for the BERNINA artista 200. For the BERNINA artista 630 and 640 models, you can retrofi t the intelligent BSR system as an accessory, and give free rein to your sewing ideas!
